My Bedroom make over!

So i moved back home to Perth and wanted to avoid falling back into the same routine as i had before. To change things up a bit, i started with my bedroom. My furniture and belongings finally arrived from Melbourne, so once i got them home, i put them all back together. In Melbourne i had paid a visit to Ikea to source myself some affordable furniture to fill my room, as i didn't own anything. I picked up a Bed Frame, Mattress and TV Cabinet.

I went with white because its clean and crisp and its pretty much a  blank canvas for colour. I find you can't have a theme with Brown furniture if one of the colours isn't brown itself and Black is just too dark for me, i like my room to be bright!

To start with the colours, i simply chose my favorite. Red. I would be happy if everything in my life was Red. Its such a vibrant colour and  it just screams life. I already had a few red items from previous bedrooms that i loved so i incorporated it all into the room. I had a Red Lamp from a designers range for Target that my mum got me for Christmas a few years back that i love, inside the shade is has bright colours, to break up all the red. My Step-Mum purchased me two red place mats a few years back that I've always sat on shelves to show a hint of red under neath items. My Step-Grandmother made me some red curtains a few years back when my Dad refused to paint my walls red ( I didn't see the issue? hehe). I also found under the Christmas Tree last year my sister had gotten me the perfect gift, a red sequined pillow! It went perfectly with the two Pillows my bestfriends got me for my birthday, one has a picture of San Fransisco on it and the other has the Empire State Building, two places we all visited together, they happened to be, black, white and red shaded pillows. They matched perfectly with my theme and my all red bed covers and sheets!

Once my mum and i looked at the room after we set up the bed, we realised the walls were a very bad shade of Peach. I guess we never noticed, because we've covered almost all the walls in the house with paintings, photos and pictures of things we liked. My room especially. So the next morning, my Wingmum met me in the Bunnings car park and after purchasing me a sausage sizzle, we went inside to the paint section. After making a joke about painting the walls red and mum telling me i could "Do whatever i wanted to them" I went the smart way and purchased my second favorite shade of White (My first being Rachel White of course). So i went home, covered the room in drop sheets and got painting!

To be continued!!!

Golden Globes January 2011!

While i woke up on my lovely Monday morning with my beautiful boy next to me, i glided out of my bedroom, made myself a nice cup of cold Iced Coffee Chill, waltz into the lounge room, turned on the TV and found that THEY WERE NOT SHOWING THE MOTHER EFFING GOLDEN GLOBES!!!!!!

Disaster was among me, I'd already given my boy the "Don't disturb me for the next 3 hours, i'll be in a coma like state, eyes glued to the TV".

So after i sat in shock for 20 minutes, i jumped onto  my laptop and started streaming them live from the NBC website. Thank Zoe. (Rachel Zoe is my God... Get it? Get it?)

So onto the pictures, here's a few i picked out that i liked from the event. It was difficult, but i decided that Catherine Zeta Jones was by far my favorite of the night.

Jade Green seemed to be the stand out colour of the night, with pretty pastels coming in a close second. Mandy Moore opting out of the trends and wearing a show stopping Blue which looked stunning on her, its great to see her doing the rounds of events, she's been playing house wife for way too long. Anne Hathaway went in a complete different direction with her figure hugging metallic Versace, Thank Zoe she pulled it off brilliantly.

Welcome 2011!!!!!

I thought, seeing as though it is now 2011 and I'm back living in small town Perth, after an 11 month jaunt in Melbourne I'd crank up my blog again. I'm living out of a suitcase and sleeping on a mattress on the floor due to my items STILL not having left Melbourne. Its quite depressing as i didn't pack all my nice clothes, thinking my things would leave Melbourne soon after i did.

Soooooo, into the pictures!

I've gathered together some photos of my fav outfits from the past couple of weeks. I've thrown in some pics from the recent Peoples Choice Awards, including Paulie Perrette in her daring "NoH8" printed dress. Good on ya girl!

In other news, only a week till The Golden Globes hits Australian TV on Monday morning,so excited for the dresses!!!
