My Bedroom make over!

So i moved back home to Perth and wanted to avoid falling back into the same routine as i had before. To change things up a bit, i started with my bedroom. My furniture and belongings finally arrived from Melbourne, so once i got them home, i put them all back together. In Melbourne i had paid a visit to Ikea to source myself some affordable furniture to fill my room, as i didn't own anything. I picked up a Bed Frame, Mattress and TV Cabinet.

I went with white because its clean and crisp and its pretty much a  blank canvas for colour. I find you can't have a theme with Brown furniture if one of the colours isn't brown itself and Black is just too dark for me, i like my room to be bright!

To start with the colours, i simply chose my favorite. Red. I would be happy if everything in my life was Red. Its such a vibrant colour and  it just screams life. I already had a few red items from previous bedrooms that i loved so i incorporated it all into the room. I had a Red Lamp from a designers range for Target that my mum got me for Christmas a few years back that i love, inside the shade is has bright colours, to break up all the red. My Step-Mum purchased me two red place mats a few years back that I've always sat on shelves to show a hint of red under neath items. My Step-Grandmother made me some red curtains a few years back when my Dad refused to paint my walls red ( I didn't see the issue? hehe). I also found under the Christmas Tree last year my sister had gotten me the perfect gift, a red sequined pillow! It went perfectly with the two Pillows my bestfriends got me for my birthday, one has a picture of San Fransisco on it and the other has the Empire State Building, two places we all visited together, they happened to be, black, white and red shaded pillows. They matched perfectly with my theme and my all red bed covers and sheets!

Once my mum and i looked at the room after we set up the bed, we realised the walls were a very bad shade of Peach. I guess we never noticed, because we've covered almost all the walls in the house with paintings, photos and pictures of things we liked. My room especially. So the next morning, my Wingmum met me in the Bunnings car park and after purchasing me a sausage sizzle, we went inside to the paint section. After making a joke about painting the walls red and mum telling me i could "Do whatever i wanted to them" I went the smart way and purchased my second favorite shade of White (My first being Rachel White of course). So i went home, covered the room in drop sheets and got painting!

To be continued!!!
